AMPLIFIED 2015 | 2 Chronicles 21:20 Jehoram was thirty-two years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem eight years; and he departed with no one's regret (sorrow). They buried him in the City of David, but not in the tombs of the kings. |
Bible Question: In 2 Kings 8:26 it says that Ahaziah was 22 when he reigned for a year but in 2 Chronicles 22:2 it says he was 42? I was just wondering why this is? |
Bible Answer: He had to be 22. Otherwise, he would have been two years older than his father, who came tro the throne at age 32 and reigned 8 years before dying at age 40. This discrepency was apparently a scribal error. Age 22 would also explain the great influence of his evil mother Athaliah, who was the daughter of the infamous Jezebel. |
