Bible Question:
1.Anti Christ - Where does he Come from? Does he come from Roman Empire? or Rome, or America? 2.Is Iraq Babylon or America? |
Bible Answer: Dear Atlanta, as a one-time Georgian, I welcome you to this web site. I've read the various answers to your question (and there will probably be more forthcoming). I think glory 777 (Debbie) posted a wise piece of advice: go to the Scriptures, check out all the eschatological theories and doctrines by the Scriptures. One would be hard pressed indeed to find a biblical subject with so many varying points of view as eschatology. What makes the whole thing so confusing to the majority of Christians is that each proponent of his school of thought is perfectly convinced that his is the right and only viable point of view. And there are literally dozens of schools of thought on eschatology. As for the anti-Christ, in my lifetime I've seen Hitler and Stalin and many others dubbed as the anti-Christ. It's always the better choice to ignore any theory, any doctrine, any half-baked idea for which there is no clear scriptural support. What I take for certain about eschatology is Christ's promise that He will return again, but He never said when. We watch and we wait, but we don't stare into the heavens in awesome expectation and abandon our duties of discipleship that are clearly set before us to do here and now while we can. --Hank |
