Subject: Satan can't read minds |
Bible Note: I tend to agree that Satan himself is not omnipresent, but I also know from scripture that he has many helpers. I also believe we can't blame every bad thought on demonic forces. John 8:43-44 Why do you not understand My speech? (Jesus speaking) Because you are not able to listen to My word. You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it. Observation-In order for a liar to be a liar he has to have someone to hear his lies. There are numerous scriptures that indicate we are in a war and that we have an actual enemy Satan who (as in the parable of the sower) comes to steal the truth when it is sown. I think it is wise to understand this truth so we can be concious of his deceiving lying self. If we atribute all thoughts to our own reasoning we are less likely to recognize it and bring those thoughts into captivity, but are more likely to sit and reason with them reasoning away the truth sown. Matthew 13:19 If we are not aware to the tactics of our enemy, we are more susceptible to be entraped by him. Do you believe that we are spirit, soul, and body. And that the spiritual rhelm is where our battles are fought? Ephesians 6:11-13 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, agains spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. But we have no reason to fear because He that is in us is greater than he that is in the world. But we must not be ignorant of his devices. 2 Corinthians 2:11 (this is speaking of forgiveness but the word 'devices' tells us there are more than one. Our mind is merely a processor for information. So words spoken to us or impressions from satan that enter the mind are powerless. It is when the are held and enter the heart that they become sin. The mind must be disciplined. Matthew 5:21-30 Sin is a heart matter. The same is true of the Holy Spirit. He speaks to us but if we do not take it to heart (believe) we will not be changed or obey. (From the abundance of the HEART the mouth speaks.) We do not need to fear satan (demons)speaking to us but rather be aware of their deceptive strategies so we do not fall prey to them in ignorance. Becoming familiar with the voice of the Holy spirit's 'voice' will make us more keenly aware of the the devil's 'voice', like black and white. Feed back? God bless! This is what I believe and why.
