Bible Note: The book of I Peter was written in approximately AD 63: if what you said is true, why did Peter bother to right chapter 5:8,9 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world. I John 4:4 speaks of (he), a ref. to satan being in the World. (Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.) Now since the devil isn't omnipresent, i.e. he can't be in more then one place at a time, he must be going back and forth from Earth to Heaven, otherwise Paul wouldn't have penned Ephesians 6:10-17, It wouldn't be necessary if our adversary were incarcerated. The fact that the devil is thrown out of Heaven, Rev. 12:7 doesn't mean that he was imprisoned there. What kind of a war would that be? The devil doesn't have omniscience like God so he has to come to Earth to see what the believers are doing in order to accuse them before God, Rev. 12:10. The fact that he is cast down only mean that he is no longer permitted to come to Heaven any longer to wage war with the brethren. He knows that when this happens that his last days of deception are coming to a halt; The only place that he can torment believers after the war in Heaven, will be on the Earth, and he knows that there are only three and one half years left to do his evil work. As a result he comes down to Earth having great wrath for the elect of God. Jesus mentioned this in Matt. 24:21-22; Paul tells of the same thing in II Thess. 2:3-6 There is no indication that the devil is restricted in any way at this time as far as confinement or being locked up. |
