Bible Question: In the Song of Solomon who is God compared to? |
Bible Answer: Greetings Angelface, In the entire book of the Song of Solomon, the word "God" does not appear. However, the long-held view about the Song of Solomon is that this book is an allegory of the love relationship between God and Israel, or between Christ and the church. If that is the case, then God would be compared to the rustic shepherd lover, and the church (or Israel) would be compared to the maiden and her pure, spontaneous love for her husband (the shepherd).
