NASB | 2 Kings 8:12 Hazael said, "Why does my lord weep?" Then he answered, "Because I know the evil that you will do to the sons of Israel: their strongholds you will set on fire, and their young men you will kill with the sword, and their little ones you will dash in pieces, and their women with child you will rip up." |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | 2 Kings 8:12 Hazael said, "Why are you weeping, my lord?" He answered, "Because I know the evil that you will do to the sons (descendants) of Israel. You will set their strongholds on fire, kill their young men with the sword, smash their children to pieces, and rip up their pregnant women." |
Bible Question:
Sorry, but the act is committed in 2 Kings 15:16. There is no mistake the order was given and carried out. There are a number of other references for these kinds of acts. How do we justify any of them? Deuteronomy 2:34 Deuteronomy 28:53 Numbers 31:17-18 I Samuel 15:3 Isaiah 13:16 Isaiah 13:18 Ezekiel 9:6 Hosea 9:14 Hosea 13:16 |
Bible Answer: Again ... God did not say this, nor justify it. Elisha was just telling Hazael what he would do. God doesn't have to justify Himself. He will wipe out everyone, so that evil will not continue. The first time was the Flood. |
