AMPLIFIED 2015 | 2 Kings 4:1 Now one of the wives of a man of the sons of the prophets cried out to Elisha [for help], saying "Your servant my husband is dead, and you know that your servant [reverently] feared the LORD; but the creditor is coming to take my two sons to be his slaves [in payment for a loan]." |
Subject: Why does the child sneeze 7 times? |
Bible Note: Hey Doc, I understand that this is your opinion and not a fact. For example, Jesus in the New Testament would often times tell parables to the multitudes then go to his disciples later and decode these parables. (i.e the parable of the sower and look at Matthew 13:9-16) If Jesus said this to his disciples I think we can apply this toward the Old Testament where God oftentimes was talking in lavish parables. Grant it, every account in the Old Testament actually happened and we must understand and live by the lessons of the story, but there must be a deeper meaning to these stories. God is in control. The child could have sneezed Once or 5 times or 30 times, but why 7? God has a reason for everything in the Bible that goes beyond historical content. God is timeless so we cannot confine his works to a time period. There must be eternal significance in every scripture. This is what I think, please let me know your reactions? |
