Bible Question: In 2 Kings 13:1 it states Jehoahaz became king of Israel in the twenty-third year of Joash (king of Judah) and that Jehoahaz reigned 17 years. However, then in 2 Kings 13:10 it states Jehoash became king of Israel in the thirty-seventh year of Joash. By my simple math if Jehoahaz became king in the twenty-third year of Joash, his reign would have ended in the 40th year of Joash and not the thirty-seventh! Can anyone shed some light on this as it’s causing me some problems! |
Bible Answer: They were co-regents. |
