Bible Question:
Hi, Christians of to-day can ask Jesus for foregiveness, but how did the christians of yesteryears,i.e. before Jesus ask for foregiveness? Is there a limit to the number of times a christian can ask for foregiveness? With Love in Christ FytRobert |
Bible Answer: Greetings: In reguard to your 1st question: According to Psalm 51, when Nathan the prophet came to David after he had sinned with Bathsheba. David, back then, was like all the rest of us today. He knew he had done wrong and needed to repent/say he was sorry. He didn't have to bring a burnt offering at that 'moment' because he 'was' the offering, a broken spirit. In reguard to your 2nd question: Ps.103:17 says that ...the mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him... I believe that God's mercy is fresh daily and if we are truly repentive that God will forgive us as many times as it takes to bring forth His work in us for all to see and bring Him glory.
