Bible Question: What events lead to David's writing of the 23 Psalm? |
Bible Answer: Sminter David wrote from his experience as a shepherd, and his first hand knowledge of sheep and their relationship to the shepherd. Psalms 22, 23 and 24 are interesting in that they describe 3 pictures of Jesus’ ministry. Psalm 22 the suffering Savior-Messiah, Psalm 23 the good Shepherd-Provider, and Psalm 24 the risen eternal High Priest. From this we know David under the Holy Spirit was probably writing of his life’s experiences, most probably of the period of time when he was being hunted and pursued by Saul. EdB |
