Bible Question:
Why was God's anger kindled against Job's friends. What exactly was wrong on what they were telling Job. It appeared tome they were trying to help by trying to figure out why he was experience so much turmoil in his life. And even I question myself as to where did I go wrong, when my life doesn't seem to be going the right way, or if I go through turmoil. |
Bible Answer: RLeaMac- When you read Job, in chapter 1, you see who Job was and how God saw him - upright, fearing God, avoiding evil. And yet, when his so-called friends come around, all they can say is "Job, what did you do wrong? You must have done something. God wouldn't just do this unless you sinned!". With friends like this who needs enemies? Instead of comfort and support, they almost seem to me like they are just trying to get Job to confess that he sinned (maybe out of jealousy or to make themselves look better?). Remember, God looks at the heart and the motives. Not only did He tell them that He is God and needs to give no explaination (isn't the fact that we have Job's story to learn from, reason enough for God to do this) but out of all the bad, everything was restored to Job double, because he loved and feared the Lord. We just need to wade through the rough waters, knowing He is beside us and knew this was going to happen, prepared a way through and, if we allow, will strengthen us in our relationship with Him and use it for His glory.
