Bible Question:
For the life of me I can't find this event. A man was traveling and stopped in a town of Benjamin. He sat in the middle of the city waiting for someone to invite him in. Finaly someone took him in. Somehow a concubine was involved. She was given to the men of the city, was raped all night and died as she reached for the door handle the next morning. the visitor was so appauled at this, when he returned home he cut up the concubine into pieces and sent them out to the rest of the tribes to declare war on the tribe of Benjamin. The tribe of Benjamin won the battle and God told the other tribe, (paraphrased) "you knew Benjamin was doing wrong, yet you did nothing to stop it or change it." So in essence, they got spanked for not being their brothers keeper. Where is that event? Haven't read it in such a long time. |
Bible Answer: Hi NikH, Welcome to the forum! That story can be found in the 19th 20th and 21st chapters of Judges. John |
