Bible Question: why were judges military leaders in the Hebrew history. |
Bible Answer: KAREEM2812 If you read the Book of Judges you will see the people resisted authority until they had problems. Much like people today I might add. In any case when conditions grew intolerable within the land because of invasions from neighboring enemies the people cried out to God. God would then raise up a leader, lead them to victory and give the people peace. They would worship and serve God until after years of leisure they would drift away from God back into paganism and the cycle would start again. The people never seemed to learn their lesson. We see this today immediately after 911 the churches experienced a upsurge in attendance. People were talking about God, the need to get the nation back on track, etc. However as time passes troubles are forgotten and we drift back into our old ways. When we are in need we turn to God but when things are going smooth we don’t want to be bothered. EdB |
