Bible Question:
Hi Radioman2, You said "Those who do not belong to Christ[are not believers]do not have the spirit of Christ. [the spirit of God, the Holy Spirit]" Does this mean that all believers have in them the spirit of God as a matter course? Your comments, please. FytRobert |
Bible Answer: Hi FytRobert, You misquoted Radioman 2 by putting spirit in the lower case. Romans 8:11, NKJ, "But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His (Spirit) who dwells in you. Therefore, brethren, we are debtors--not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh. For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the **Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live." Colossians 1:27, "...which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. And we proclaim Him, admonishing every man and teaching every man with all wisdom, that we may present every man complete in (Christ). And for this purpose also I labor, striving according to **His power, which mightily works within me." It is in the working of Christ and the power of the Spirit that we labor and live. The parentheses and stars are mine for comparison. From the heart, Ray |
