Bible Question: If this has been asked before, forgive me (tried to look for it in "Search"), but here's the gist: Concerning the status of the ark animals--before the flood, no animal or human ate meat. Correct? But after the flood, meat eating was introduced. But a couple of problems: a) it takes a special kind of intestines and stomach for meat b) and if meat-eaters were eating meat, what would that do to the "eatees", who wouldn't have had too much time to reproduce, it would seem... In other words, a biological problem, along with a logistical problem. Going around and around with this in our family, so finally resorting to a little extra opinions. Hope some of you can help...thanks. |
Bible Answer: I Don't know about the stomach and intestines (maybe we already were prepared for such digestion from the beginning) but in "Genesis 7:2 "You shall take with you of every clean animal by sevens, a male and his female; and of the animals that are not clean two, a male and his female;" and in "Genesis 7:3 also of the birds of the sky, by sevens, male and female, to keep offspring alive on the face of all the earth." The key words '7 pairs of every clean (edible) animal and bird This coupled with the fact that there were many more types of animals than us (including the now carnivores- which I believe were the unclean). And they were probably procreating during the flood and they didn't have to eat meat all the time (as a matter of interest they most probably didn't have the "stomach" or have a fully developed taste for such a new food source for a time). You have to remember this a completely new world to all of them, and they're everyday routine (diets and such) was just barely getting off the ground. Please let me know if this sounds right Thankyou God Bless |
