Bible Question (short): The creation and the Gap |
Question (full): Regarding the possibility of the creation of Mankind Gen 1:26 and the special Man of 2:7 If you have a Strongs concordance and a Hebrew lexicon that uses the Strongs numbering system look it up. The Hebrew word #120 adam (aw-dawm) came translate either man or mankind, species or decendants. Depending weather or nor an artlicle is used with it or not determines the usage. With the particle ('eth) and the artlicle it is very emphatic meaning this self, very, this same, this very! In Gen 1:26-27, and several other places it is without the article, possible meaning mankind followed by plural pronoun. In Gen 2:7 twice and 8,15,16,19,22 twice, 3:12, 22,24,. The Pronoun Adam assumes the nature of a proper name, as denoting " the man " as the only of its kind. (page 13 Hebrew Lexicon under Man.#120 Strongs) In Gen 6 it talks about the sons of GOD taking the sons of man. You don't need to say things about angles to make sence of it. The word also talks about some made for honor and some for distruction. Jesus stems from adam the christ-line, also referred to as the life-line. Eve being the mother of all living. I'm not willing to die over it but its worth consideration. TKO |
