Bible Question:
joshua 11:6,9, the lord tell joshua to hamstring horses of his enemies he defeated. 2 samuel 8:4, and david hamstrung all the chariot horses. why does god order the hamstringing of horses? what fault horses have to bare such cruelty? |
Bible Answer: God did not want David to enrich himself with chariots and horses lest he trust in his army instead of God. So God ordered the burning of the chariots, and the crippling of the horses. This also prevented them from being used by David's enemies against Israel. Love in Christ, Mark |
