Bible Question: Altar calls . . . Biblical? or Man's "learned reponse".Is there any reference to altar calls in the scriptures? |
Bible Answer: Greetings Headdoc5, 2 Samuel 24:25 is one of the only places in the entire Bible that associates the building of an altar to the Lord with prayer. However, altars in present-day churches are not reflective of the altars built in the Old Testament in that we continue to offer animals as sacrifices, but the altar is a symbolic reminder to us of Romans 12:1-2, in which we are to offer ourselves to the Lord as 'living sacrifices', and we have the opportunity to do that through prayer.
