AMPLIFIED 2015 | Genesis 6:4 There were Nephilim (men of stature, notorious men) on the earth in those days--and also afterward--when the sons of God lived with the daughters of men, and they gave birth to their children. These were the mighty men who were of old, men of renown (great reputation, fame). [Num 13:33] |
Bible Question: Who did Cain marry to have children? |
Bible Answer: Dear Ostmarkgasse, Genesis 6:4 states that there are 'sons of God' and 'daughters of men.' Since angels are spiritual beings, they cannot procreate with humans, and are not the 'sons of God.' Therefore, these 'sons of God' could mean 'of Adam,' compared with the creation of man in Genesis 1:27, who would be the 'daughters of men.' If we insist that Genesis 1:27 speaks of Adam and Eve, indeed I can only guess that Cain married and unmentioned sister. (I don't favor this interpretation) |
