AMPLIFIED 2015 | Genesis 48:16 The Angel [that is, the LORD Himself] who has redeemed me [continually] from all evil, Bless the boys; And may my name live on in them [may they be worthy of having their names linked with mine], And the names of my fathers Abraham and Isaac; And may they grow into a [great] multitude in the midst of the earth." |
Bible Question:
do angels have freewill? if so, are any of the angels capable of committing the same sin that lucifer made or any other kind of sin? If angels don't have freewill. Was Lucifer made for the pupose of being satan? which would be another choice other than God for man to choose |
Bible Answer: Dear eneliko, "The basic teaching of the Bible is that there are three groups of angels; unfallen and free, fallen and free, and fallen and confined. All of the free ones are very active in things that touch the lives of believers and unbelievers alike. As opponents of God and perverted servants, the fallen angels attempt to thwart His purposes. As perfect servants, the unfallen angels actually form a company of friends of the elect." [Karleen, Paul S. The Handbook to Bible Study] They do posses will according to Isa. 14:12–15 and Jude 6. Basically, satan fell because of his pride and desire to "be like God" (Is. 14:12-14) I like how our pastor said it once. "All you have to do to go to hell is, nothing!" The theme song to hell was written by Frank Sinatra: "I Did It My Way". Speaking the Truth in Love, BradK |
