Bible Question: could joseph tell the meaning of dreams? who could? |
Bible Answer: Joseph could tell the meaning of dreams because he was divinely inspired to know the meaning of Pharoah's dreams. In order for God to protect Joseph's family from the coming famine, he had to establish Joseph in a position of power, of which there are few in a land full of nomads. Best you can get in a relatively nomadic Israel is caravan leader, with relatively no ability to stockpile food. So, God 'borrowed' Pharoah's resources to protect his people. This was Joseph's destiny as decreed by God and was not achieved by Joseph's working for it. He was chosen, as specified in the verse- chosen to stand in the spirit of God. |
