Bible Question:
Is there a phrase "I am my brothers keeper"? |
Bible Answer: Greetings Marty! The statement is not found in the Bible, but the question is: Gen. 4:9 says, "Then the LORD said to Cain, ‘‘Where is your brother Abel?” ‘‘I don’t know,” he replied. ‘‘Am I my brother’s keeper?”" Cain was trying to get away with not answering God's question by implying that he had no responsibility to "keep" or care for his brother. I hope this helps! Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |
