NASB | Genesis 4:5 but for Cain and for his offering He had no regard. So Cain became very angry and his countenance fell. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | Genesis 4:5 but for Cain and his offering He had no respect. So Cain became extremely angry (indignant), and he looked annoyed and hostile. |
Bible Question: What was so bad about Cain's sacrifice? Why did'nt God accept it? |
Bible Answer: Cain had a poor attitude. First of all, the SACRIFICE had to be a blood sacrifice, Cain brought fruit. God means what He says - there's nothing arbitrary - do what He says or reap the consequences... Cain did't bother with that important detail. Blows my mind that he compounds things by murdering his own brother out of jealousy. Just read the first 4 chapters of Genesis. |
