Bible Note: Kalos, in my answer to the question of this thread, I am NOT contradicting yours in any sense. We know, of course, that all humankind had its origin with Adam and Eve and in that context your answer is certainly correct. The point of my answer is that the Bible does not state explictly in Genesis 4:17 whether Cain's wife was the daughter of our first parents or whether she was merely of the lineage (grand-daughter for example) of Adam and Eve. That she was a descendent of Adam and Eve is a given; she could be nothing else, unless we are willing to embrace the idea of a pre-Adamic race or of evolution, neither of which can claim the slightest degree of scriptural support. --Hank |
