Bible Question: God created Adam and Eve .. the first man .. the first woman; Eve bore a son Cain .. first offspring; who was Cain afraid of in Gen 4:14? |
Bible Answer: I believe Cain was afraid of persons who at the time he spoke these words did not exist, but he considered would in due course be born into this world. See Genesis Ch 5 vs 3-4, after the birth of Seth, who was born when Adam was 130 years old, Adam went on to live for a further 800 years, and fathered both sons and daughters. I am concluding that Cain knew that as time went on future gererations would be told of what he Cain had done, and as a result, kill him and fulfill what he had said at Ch 4 v 14 would happen. God also knew this, which is why He put a mark on Cain see v 15, in order prevent him from being murdered. |
