Bible Answer: Hello, I pray that my words aren't offensive. In regards to your question it is found in Gen 38,your question is based on false extrapolation of Gen 38 and the story of Onan, Tamar and Judah. Ancient near Eastern culture it would have been the thing to do for Onan to impregnate his dead brother's wife that his brother's line might continue. Selfishly Onan didn't wish any of his bro. offspring to bear his name. We must be careful how we interprate the bible.God says not to add or take away from his word. This scripture has been used out of context for masturbation. The simple truth is our bodies our to be presented to God as a liveing sacrifice holy,pure and blamless before God. So please study this chapter to the maximum, ask for the leading of the holy spirit. Lean not to your own understanding ackowledge Him in all thy ways and He will direct your foot-steps. I pray that your recieve this in open-mindness and teachable spirit; for we never stop learning about God even as a Pastor or Bishop we are always learning.
