Bible Question: Genesis 32:24 - Why does Jacob wrestle with the angel? |
Bible Answer: Jacob was aways wrestling or contending with God spiritualy. This now manifests itself into the flesh. That is why when God tells Jacob that he has won, his reply is: "No, I will never let you go." and "What is your name?" God gives him two names, Israel when he is looking at things with spiritual eyes and Jacob, (Ya'acov in Hebrew means deciever) Jacob also asks the question, he wanted to know what attribute of God he was wrestling. |
