Bible Question: In Genesis' first story of creation, God talked about how he created man in his image, and male and female he created them... but feminists talk about how the bible says that women are inferior to men. Could someone please clarify? |
Bible Answer: phruubeljiie, Many people read more into the bible than is there. Feminists are no exception. How could woman be inferior to man if she was created in the likeness of God and is also described in Genesis as being formed out of man, that is to say an intregal part of him? You will also find those who argue that Jesus is not God because he says the Father is greater than He in one passage, ignoring the passage where He says the Father and He are one and he who has seen Him has seen the Father among other passaages. Fasten your seatbelt, its going to be a bumpy ride! I see your short phrasing of the question recognizes the potential for humor in this matter. Thank God for that. And how about that Mary? What man came even close to such an honor? Right from the beginning, even after the Fall the bible teaches God had big plans for woman, Gen 3:15; Rev 12:1. Emmaus |
