Bible Question (short): Is Ishmael the father of Islam? |
Question (full): Gen 16:12 "He will be a wild donkey of a man, His hand will be against everyone, And everyone's hand will be against him; And he will live to the east of all his brothers." Examination of this prohecy concerning Ishmael would be coherent to what we are seeing concerning the Muslim/Islamic world which will not live peacefully with its internal or external neighbors. Infidels, Christians and Jews...Buddhists and Hindu, have the hand of Jihad against them. And it appears that the Qu'ran trumps up the relationship between Ishmael and Abraham, to be something greater than what I can find it to be other than animous, in order to lend credibility to Islam to be anything more than that of a plaintiff "Me Too" inclusionary cry from the elder son of Abraham. Therefore I take this to be a prophecy of Islam as we see it today with the head being in Mecca to the east. The Muslim Faithful all bow to the east in prayer towards Mecca to further solidify my thoughts on this verse. I can only conclude that Ishmael is the legitimate father of Islam because of the root sin in which Abraham did not wait on God to fulfill His promise. Can I be dissuaded? |
