AMPLIFIED 2015 | Genesis 2:9 And [in that garden] the LORD God caused to grow from the ground every tree that is desirable and pleasing to the sight and good (suitable, pleasant) for food; the tree of life was also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of the [experiential] knowledge (recognition) of [the difference between] good and evil. Bible Note: Thankyou for your answer.I was very carefull in the way I asked the question.I did not say they had eternal life.I said that they would not have died.I agree that they had the perfect liberty to eat of the tree of Life. Thus had the liberty to do good. But God gave them no liberty to do evil. Thus when men sin they come into bondage. I dont think they did not eat of the tree of life because they did not think of it but perchance that felt no need or were not hungry for it seeing that they had life already with no death. I do not beleive that had eternal life .I beleive they had life. I beleive there is an answer as to the why. Eve came to think as she did because she had not only accepted the words of the devil by the mouth of the serpent as to the bad character of God keeping good from them(so it is implied)by so doing opened the door to rejecting also Gods words by which she lived. For man shall not live by every tree that is good to eat but by every word that proceedeth from the mouth of God. By rejecting the truth as to what was good and what was evil. Her "understanding was darkened"and her perceptions were blinded as to the true nature of the tree. Thus she SAW that the tree was GOOD to eat and REASONED thus "It would make her wise" If they had ate of the tree of life after they had sinned then they wouod have lived for ever in rebellion against God and in sin. I dont believe they had a limited free will. what sort of liberty is that? Liberty surely is not to be able to do evil. God gave them the liberty that He had. You CAN resist iristable grace. For the grace of God came by Jesus Christ. "If I be lifted up I will draw ALL men unto me" When God said to Adam what was good to eat and what was evil to eat and gave them no liberty to do evil for in the day ye do ye shall surely die. he revealed HIS ETERNAL WILL that man should live and not die. Thus he sent Jesus into the world according to His eternal will .Thus to resist Gods will means you love death more than life. To resist the cross means you reject the Word of GOD THE BLOOD of Christ and the Will of God. What hope then is there for a man if he rejects the mercy of God ?There is but the wrath and judgement of God. Thus to resist the iristable you bring destruction upon your self. and seeing that we now have IREFUTABLE proof as to Gods will and goodness not withholding even His own Son.To thus deny the irefutable is to bring damnation upon your own head. God did not plan to rectyfy our mistake. But even from the begining had HIS WILL and from the moment He said "let there be light" That eteranl will and purpose has been progresievly unfolding even untill now and will do so even unto the end. You cannot worship God with a limited free will. But only in Spirit and in truth. Gerald |
