NASB | Genesis 2:8 The LORD God planted a garden toward the east, in Eden; and there He placed the man whom He had formed. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | Genesis 2:8 And the LORD God planted a garden (oasis) in the east, in Eden (delight, land of happiness); and He put the man whom He had formed (created) there. |
Bible Question: In Genesis 2:10 - "And a river went out of Eden to water the garden." My question is what is the name of this river? And it says that the "river went out of Eden to water the garden." Would not this indicate that the Garden was not in Eden? |
Bible Answer: pbp, read deep and close! Genesis 2:8 A garden was planted. Where, eastward of Eden. Eden is the name of the place. The garden was planted eastward of the place(Eden). The river is flowing from the place or source in the place (Eden), watering the garden there. I haven't seen a name for the river. Read even closer, and you'll see that Adam was not created in the garden but place there or in the garden. So, where was Adam created. No location or name was given. God Bless! |
