Bible Question: Under what terms in the eyes of God am I considered to be married to a male who is of no family relations to me? Secondly, am I considered impure or unchaste because I have sexual realtions with the person I am committed to, and intend to be with (legally married to by the church) for the rest of my life? |
Bible Answer: Hi Inspirational, You speak of being "legally married by the church", and I think that is a good description of "married in the eyes of God". God does not consider you married until you are "legally married", because He requires us to follow the laws of the land that do not conflict with His, and that's the law of the land. Physical relations that happen before that time comes are strictly prohibited. "Unchaste" would be an accurate word to describe someone who is in a sexual relationship outside of marraige.
