Bible Question: God created animals prior to creating man. He created male and female of every species. When He created man He only created Adam at first. It's unclear from the bible whether Adam was created a child or an adult and how long he remained alone. Why didn't God automatically create a female human? |
Bible Answer: I believe that God in the poetic literature of Genesis chose to tell the story the way He did so that the best ideas of marriage could be brought into the picture. The bottom line is that God did create a female human, but the beautiful "poetic" way the story unfolds tell us a fuller, more detailed, account that includes words like "For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh."
