AMPLIFIED 2015 | Genesis 17:8 "I will give to you and to your descendants after you the land in which you are a stranger [moving from place to place], all the land of Canaan, as an everlasting possession [of property]; and I will be their God." [Acts 7:5] |
Bible Question:
Is there a biblical imperative that dictates,or even permits, that the Jews of the Diaspora have a right to any specific land area of the Middle East? I recall hearing Hank Hanagraaf say on his radio show that there is a political case, but not a biblical case, to be made for possession. Yet, many Christians seem to "know" that the bible does indeed dictate Jewish possession.(But I really love Hank:) |
Bible Answer: Jensen, These two passages make it clear to me: -On that day, God made a covenant with Abram, saying: "To your descendants I have given this land, from the river of Egypt as far as the great river the Euphrates. The land of the Kenites, Kenizites, Kadmonites; the Chitties, Perizites, Refaim; the Emorites, Canaanites, Gigashites and Yevusites." (Genesis 15:18-21) -"And I will give to you and to your descendants after you, the land of your temporary residence, all the land of Canaan as an eternal possession and I will be a God to them." (Genesis 17:8) Steve |
