Bible Question: Who was Abraham, and what relationship are there between him and faith? |
Bible Answer: Adex ::: Abraham was the forefather of both the Jews and the Arabs. Originally called Abram, he left Ur in ancient Sumeria to travel to Haram in Syria, eventually migrating to Canaan, a place where God promised him that all his descendants would ultimately dwell. The Bible gives an account of the events in the life of Abraham beginning in Genesis 12 and continuing until his death and burial at the age of 175 years, recorded in Genesis 25. See Hebrews 11:8-12 for a summary statement of the faith of Abraham and of his wife, Sarah. --Hank |
