AMPLIFIED 2015 | Genesis 1:26 ¶ Then God said, "Let Us (Father, Son, Holy Spirit) make man in Our image, according to Our likeness [not physical, but a spiritual personality and moral likeness]; and let them have complete authority over the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, the cattle, and over the entire earth, and over everything that creeps and crawls on the earth." Bible Question: Biblical references to Christ at creation? Thanks in advance for any help that you can provide. |
Bible Answer: Scripture ... Gen 1:1ff; Jhn 1:3, 10; 1Co 8:6, Heb 1:2, 11:3; 2Pe 3:5 ... sarahk, greetings and welome to the forum, Let me add some more verses (above) to the excellent posts by Johnny and Makarios. In Genesis 1:1ff, the word for God is Elohim, which is a plural meaning more than two. We see the Holy Spirit is involved (Psa 104:30), as well as the Father (Psa 136:1-9, Pro 3:19). There are more verses. Then in verse 26, the "we" mean all three. The last two verses above may not mean Christ. My Bible cross-refernced me to them. Hope this helps, Searcher |
