Bible Question:
friends, In the Bible there are a lot Of God's promises in every aspect and areas of life. However in so many times people just seem to make their way outs and make justification of themselves by counteracting through the Bible as well. In so many time I've heard of people especially the victims of brokenness, tragedies , problems, and sufferings, they would say if God is really a God of Love why doesn't He stop the sufferings of this world, why does He allow things to happen even to godly people? They would qoute Psalms 121 the shining Hero that neither slumbers and who will not allow any harm to His people? where is the truth in this text when life's crushing difficulties comes? there are still many passages that tells How Loving our God is. My question is How can we justify The God of Love in this world full of evil? How can we defend Him that amidst the sufferrings in Life He will remain to be our Loving God? I would appreciate very much if you can help me with this query. I often meet people who would strike me to such question and I feel lack of answers at times. Thank you and God Bless! inheavenseyes |
Bible Answer: inheavenseyes- Yes, God is a God of Love. He loved us so much that He will not force us to love Him and He gave us free will. It was man's choice that allowed evil to come into this world and it is our choice to believe that Jesus died for our sins. It is our choice to rest on the promises He gives us (I will never leave you nor forsake you ...my peace I give to you, etc.). We also don't know the eventual outcome of many of the tragedies, but I do know that God can take the worst situations and cause them to work for His good and His plans. Look at the Columbine shootings. I understand because of the faith of the one girl, so many were brought to salvation. In areas where persecution is highest, faith in Christ is growing by leaps and bounds. Those who are believers are tried and made stronger by bad situations - it is a time to rely more on God. I also believe hard times happen so the Lord gives us opportunities to grow in faith so we can be there to help others who are going through similar situations. Hope this helps, some. Sometimes, what it takes is not so much "Words of Wisdom" but a shoulder to lean and cry on. Love in Christ- Debbie |
