AMPLIFIED 2015 | Genesis 1:26 ¶ Then God said, "Let Us (Father, Son, Holy Spirit) make man in Our image, according to Our likeness [not physical, but a spiritual personality and moral likeness]; and let them have complete authority over the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, the cattle, and over the entire earth, and over everything that creeps and crawls on the earth." Bible Question:
Gen. 1:26 Then God said, "Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, [1] and over all the creatures that move along the ground." Why GOD said LET US (who was He talking to??.. ) someone asked me this and had no adequate answer. Pls. help me with the WORD. Thanks and blessings |
Bible Answer: Tamed, Hi! The reason God said "let us" is because of the name referenced to God in this passage. The Hebrew word is Elohim. It's a plural word that means "gods", but specifically used of the supreme "God" (this can get really deep, so I'll leave it alone for now). So God the Father was actually having fellowship with His Son before the creation of the world! Also, the gospel of John tells us that "all things were made by Him (Jesus). Also Heb. 1:2; 1 Cor. 8:6 (according to this Scripture, the world was created "by" Jesus, and was created "for" the Father)?; and the best one of all (in my eyes) is Col. 1:16. Hope this will help.:) In Christ, steve |
