NASB | Genesis 1:26 ¶ Then God said, "Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the cattle and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth." |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | Genesis 1:26 ¶ Then God said, "Let Us (Father, Son, Holy Spirit) make man in Our image, according to Our likeness [not physical, but a spiritual personality and moral likeness]; and let them have complete authority over the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, the cattle, and over the entire earth, and over everything that creeps and crawls on the earth." Subject: Man is considered to be what to God? |
Bible Note: I've always been taught that the image that God installed in us is our soul and conscience which is spiritual in nature. It's the single thing that separates us from the rest of God's creation. Only humans have this higher characteristic of life. It's the only thing that we can hope to take into the next life, after the destruction of this universe. I don't think we as humans have a divine mind but we do have, at least from birth a divine soul. Then after we mess it up with worldliness, we have to rely on our complete faith and trust in God to get us Home. Hope to see you there. |
