NASB | Genesis 1:26 ¶ Then God said, "Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the cattle and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth." |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | Genesis 1:26 ¶ Then God said, "Let Us (Father, Son, Holy Spirit) make man in Our image, according to Our likeness [not physical, but a spiritual personality and moral likeness]; and let them have complete authority over the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, the cattle, and over the entire earth, and over everything that creeps and crawls on the earth." Subject: MAN IN DOMINION AGAIN THRU JESUS CHRIST |
Bible Note: Graceful You still confuse the words dominion and authority. Man was given dominion (ability to subdue)over all the earth. Not authority (ability to demand obedience) of all the earth. And Satan never had the authority that required us to be in obedience to him. Instead he used lies, tricks and deception to get man to follow him. Your thinking is always oriented toward the physical rather than the spiritual. Look how you answered Radioman2 when he asked what are the "works" Jesus is talking about in John 14:9-12? It isn't as as you think the miracles. Read the context Jesus is talking about the preaching of the Gospel. He saying I preached the "Good News" and you will do it even more. Jesus was concerned about salvation the salvation of all those that would be born after Him. Not their physical condition. Their physical condition is temporary existing only as long as they live. However their spiritual state is eternal. When Jesus had this discourse with Nathanael in John 1:48-50 Nathanael said to Him, "How do You know me?" Jesus answered and said to him, "Before Philip called you, when you were under the fig tree, I saw you." 49Nathanael answered Him, "Rabbi, You are the Son of God; You are the King of Israel." 50Jesus answered and said to him, "Because I said to you that I saw you under the fig tree, do you believe? You will see greater things than these." Again what was he talking about? Miracles, healings, prophecy? No Jesus was saying you will see people enter the kingdom of God that is the greatest miracle, the greatest work that ever existed. If in fact Jesus was referring to miracles and healings in John 14:9-12 and Jesus raised the dead what could we do that would be greater? Be blessed and start thinking spiritual instead of physical. Your are a spiritual being living temporally in physical body. Be blessed and be a blessing EdB |
