Bible Question: are there any old test versesalluding to angels being witness to the creation of the earth? |
Bible Answer: Sorry, this seems to be a teaching of the Roman Catholic Church, and also Islam teaching but the Bible does not seem to support their views. Angels are messengers, not witnesses. God was in existence before creation, and angels are created by Him as well. Gen 1:4 shows us that God needed no help, and no one needed to witness His creation. See in Jn 8:14, "Jesus answered and said to them, "Even if I testify about Myself, My testimony is true, for I know where I came from and where I am going; but you do not know where I come from or where I am going." Though this applies to the men He was speaking to at the time, I presume it would also apply to angels. And in Gen 1:4, God saw that the light was good; and God separated the light from the darkness. So if the Bible does not say that angels were there to witness, I would be careful as to how I chose to prove that they were. Adam Jr. |
