Bible Question:
Hi, with this part of the paragraph area. The Lord says that when we seek God with all of our hearts and souls we will find him. Because I'm struggling with the need of finding him, and I've given my life to Jesus but I just don't feel connected. Could somone give me as much information in a practical 21st century way that which I could understand? Thank You, because I want to feel and get as close to God as possible and I'm not sure always how to do that. You'de think I would of already been showin the way since I gave my life to Jesus but it doesn't seem so. Guidence and direction need here. Thank you.. |
Bible Answer: Welcome to the club Nightjay! Not a single one of us can, in all honesty, say that we love God with all our heart. To love Him with all your heart would mean that sin was a thing of the past; that falling to temptation was never a problem. John Newton, who wrote the hymn "Amazing Grace", also wrote... I asked the Lord, that I might grow In faith, and love, and every grace; Might more of His salvation know, And seek more earnestly His face. I hoped that in some favoured hour At once He'd answer my request, And by His love's constraining power Subdue my sins, and give me rest. Instead of this, he made me feel The hidden evils of my heart; And let the angry powers of hell Assault my soul in every part. Yea more, with his own hand He seemed Intent to aggravate my woe; Crossed all the fair designs I schemed, Blasted my gourds, and laid me low. 'Lord, why is this?' I trembling cried, 'Wilt thou pursue Thy worm to death?' 'Tis in this way,' the Lord replied, 'I answer prayer for grace and faith. 'These inward trials I employ 'From self and pride to set thee free; 'And break thy schemes of earthly joy, 'That thou may'st seek thy all in me.' |
