84 | DOES HEB:10:9 MEAN "REPLACEMENT THEOLOGY | Heb 10:9 | Searcher56 | 231559
God's day to you, donboyntonclu, and welcome to the SBF, No, this has not one thing about Replacement Theology. Read the context and you'll see it is about His sacrafice replacing the former - once for all. Please do not use all caps - for that is rude (it is yelling) and harder for some to read. Searcher |

85 | Is this more about David or about Jesus? | 2 Sam 22:23 | Searcher56 | 231556
RWC, David is not claiming he was sinless, neither did the Psalmist (Psa 119:102). Both are saying their focus was on obedience. He did mess up, including several sins around Bathsheba. Searcher |

87 | If God is a loving god, why so much pain | John 3:16 | Searcher56 | 231554
God's day to you, focusahead1, and welcome to the SBF, I think about Job. He suffered as a test for himself and to prove to Satan that Job woould not waiver. Matthew J. Slick wrote for Christian Apologetics and Research Ministry(CARM) with aome good answers. http://carm.org/if-god-all-powerful-and-loving-why-there-suffering-world I think of those in prison (and thier familes) who are suffering because they were convicted of something. I think many did not have a good father to raise them in God's way. Thank you for your ministry, Searcher |

88 | God riding on an angel? | 2 Sam 22:11 | Searcher56 | 231553
RWC, He was between two cherubim which are upon the ark of the testimony (Exo 25:22) sat enthroned above the cherubim (1Sa 4:4; 2Sa 6:2; Ps 88:1, 99:1). I think it is David's description of God rideing on a cherub and flying ... also in Psalm 18:10). God travels his chariot in the clouds (Psa 104:3). Psalm 139 says God is omnipresent, so I think it is interesting to describe His movements. Searcher |

God's day to you, iaabac1 , and welcome to the SBF, God gave the command circumcise on eighth day, because the mother was unclean for seven days (Lev 12:1-3). It was a sign of a covenent between God and Abraham (Gen 17:11, Act 7:8) Note blood clotting works best after the 7th day. http://www.apologeticspress.org/articles/2204 Hope I answered your question, Searcher |

93 | Why did Adam sin? | 1 Tim 2:14 | Searcher56 | 231532
God's day to you, BradK, You said, "Basically, Adam was deceived." However the Scripture you cited (1 Tim 2:14) contradicts that. The why is not clear. I believe the how is. Eve gave him the fruit (Gen 3:6). We don't know how close he was when she listen to the serpent (vv 1-5). Searcher |

94 | How is the Holy spirit given to you | Acts 2:38 | Searcher56 | 231525
God's day to you, armond888, While repent (plural) and baptized (singular) are commands, or answer to a question "Brethren, what shall we do?" (vs 36) the phrase 'for the forgiveness of sins' cannot be associated with the command to 'be baptized'. It is simply not gramatically possible. Translations can be confusing, including English. It is important to have a Interlinear and have some understanding of the Greek. Searcher |

97 | How is the Holy spirit given to you | Acts 2:38 | Searcher56 | 231505
God's day to you, armond888, The sequence of "first be demonstrated repentance then water baptism snf you SHALL then received the gift of the Holy Spirit" is not correct. The following is from Tim Moran's post It begins ... First of all, the verbs are different numbers. a) 'Repent' is an (Aorist, Active, Imperative, 2nd Person, Plural) verb. b) 'Be baptized' is an (Aorist, Passive, Imperative, 3rd Person, Singular) verb. c) The pronoun in the phrase 'for forgiveness of sins' is a Second Person, Plural pronoun. Therefore, the phrase 'for the forgiveness of sins' cannot be associated with the command to 'be baptized'. It is simply not gramatically possible. The best way to view the verse is the view the command to be baptized as a parenthetical statement: "Repent (plural) (and let each one be baptized (singular) in the Name of Jesus Christ) for the forgiveness of your (plural) sins and you (plural) will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit" For more enter 147165 under Quick Search.
