I love this question. Without a doubt it is an Angel (gk angelos) of Satan. If you look at the context of 2 Cor and especially chps 10-12 you must come to the undeniable conclusion that it is a the false apostles and false brethren that follow Paul around inciting the Jews to persecute Paul. See Acts 13:44-45,50, 14:19-20,15:1-2, And Also look at Matt 27:17-18. It was a messenger sent to stir up the religious folk to ENVY. There is absolutely NO evidence to support the erroneous dotrine that it was an eye disease. Gal 1 and 6 are not sufficient. Either contextually or circumstancially. See 2 Tim 3:11 Nor can Pauls thorn be some disease that God refused to heal him of because "Out of them all the Lord delivered me!" Thorn in the flesh is a Hebrew Idiom, meaning in our day and culture A PAIN IN THE NECK. If I said Satan was a pain in the neck you wouldn't think that I had neck problems would you? See Num 33:25, Josh 23:13, and Judges 2:3 |

82 | Is Prosperity wrong in light of Mk 16:15 | Not Specified | In the Andes | 53542
How is it that God is against money and prosperity when He has commanded us to go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature? How can we say that prosperity is heretical when God's Ambassadors are suffering financial hardship needlessly? Do we criticize those televangelists for "impure motives" yet the average american family has 2 or 3 cars a tv in every room and more appliances than they know what to do with? What do you think? What's worse, to preach that God desires to bless His children financially or to hypocritically spend more money on self than the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ?

84 | business partners with unbelievers | 1 Cor 15:33 | In the Andes | 53538
1 Cor 5:9-13 9 I wrote to you in my epistle not to keep company with sexually immoral people. 10 Yet I certainly did not mean with the sexually immoral people of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or idolaters, since then you would need to go out of the world. 11 But now I have written to you not to keep company with anyone named a brother, who is sexually immoral, or covetous, or an idolater, or a reviler, or a drunkard, or an extortioner--not even to eat with such a person. 12 For what have I to do with judging those also who are outside? Do you not judge those who are inside? 13 But those who are outside God judges. Therefore "put away from yourselves the evil person." NKJV Honestly, you've asked a question that I believe can only be answered by the Lord. From these two portions of scripture 1 Cor 15:33 and 1 Cor 5:19- I think that you could go either way. You know, unfortunately I've found that most Christian Business people have less character than the sinners. I hired a christian to work for me and he was lazy, took advantage of my kindness, and cost me more money AND did a poor job and refused to fix his mistakes. Then if that wasn't enough he blamed it on the Lords Will. It was a very difficult situation for me. It really depends upon what type of business venture you are talking about. Is this guy a friend of yours? Are you a new believer? OR have you had much experience following the leading of the Holy Spirit? You know, Gideon was not born again. He did not have God's Spirit living inside him. YOU DO. You are the temple of the Holy Ghost. That's where God is going to speak to you and lead you. From where he lives. Not on the outside. Jesus said "My sheep HEAR my voice and they follow me." That's not an audible voice. But if you are born again that's a promise to you. You need to follow that voice. The word follow denotes position. To follow someone you must be behind them AND be able to see where they are going. God is your father, and he's not making it difficult for you. He's not withhold info from you. That would be torture to think that your father's withholding valuable info to treach you something. God's Name is Jehovah Roi- the Lord my Shepherd- Shepherds lead feed and protect. He is NOT Jehoveh Sadistic- the lord who tortures me- or Jehoveh Schitzophrenic- the Lord who changes his mind frequently. If you got doubts about this, I'd say wait a little bit. If it's God today, it'll be God tomorrow. |
