Again, you have misquoted me. What I said was, "If you are not being tempted by Satan, you MIGHT BE running with him!" When Jesus resisted Satan, he was not running with him. Again, you have made an absurd statement, and you are trying to make it appear that I am saying foolish things. Satan sometimes uses our bad decisions, past sins, etc. to attack us. God has put our sins as far as the East is from the West, yet some people get attacked by Satan with thinking about past sins, and this can steral their joy. Satan is the destroyer. I, of course, accept your apology. But, you have done it again in this post. Not exactly in the same way, but you have misquoted me. Janae. |

Yes, you are right about the flesh being our biggest enemy, and Satan uses that. However, a lot of people don't even admit that Satan exists, and I guess I just wanted to make the point that it is Satan who places temptations before us, and they can be very subtle, so you have to be on guard against him and them. It would be foolish to ignore them. And, yes, if we submit to the flesh, we can stumble and fall. You are right about discerning good and evil. I am blessed because at my church, there is a true man of God in the pulpit who seeks God first and wants God to be in charge; he wants God's agenda. He just did a series of lessons on how the flesh is our biggest enemy and how Satan get the blame for probably more than he deserves. But, Satan is real and he is tempting us, and he is sly and deceitful. I don't know what you mean by people who live "in the rear" being the ones who are "bothered" by Satan. I disagree. I believe the stronger you are for God, the stronger your temptations are. Billy Graham, for example. He has probably had more attacks from Satan than you or I could even think of. It is how we handle those attacks that is key. Janae |

I am always amazed at how people on this board like to put words into other peoples mouths. I did not say that demons were everywhere, or omnipresent. There are millions of demons and there are probably certain ones assigned to each believer. We have three enemies in this world: The flesh, Satan and ourselves. You are right in what you say in your last paragraph. Yes, if you risist the devil, i.e. do not submit to temptation, the devil will flee from you. But his job (and he does it very well) is to create havoc in our lives, and that is what he loves doing. He will never stop, not as long as we are breathing. You get through one test and trial, and there is another one right on its heals. If you are not being tempted by Satan, you might be running with him! Janae. |

Much goes on in the spiritual realm which we cannot see. And, perhaps it is a good thing we can't see it, as a rule! Demons are real and their job is to make our lives miserable. They do not tell the future. How absurd. They do, however, know what goes on it your life and can hear your conversations and even, I think, read your mind. If Satan knew the future, he would never have allowed Jesus to die on the cross. I didn't say Satan couldn't hear us praying in tongues. I said he couldn't understand what we were saying, because it is just between God and the spirit of the person praying. Some people are more spiritual than others. Some people can see into the spiritual realm and others cannot. It is up to God what He reveals to us. Yours in Christ, Janae |

Satan is a real angel of darkness. He has much power on this earth. He is the prince of the power of the air. He is the Prince of Persia who Michael the Arch Angel was fighting in Daniel. He transforms himself into an angel of light. He is not an ugly beast. His pride is what got him in touble in the first place. Isaiah 14:12-19 is about Satan, as is Ezekiel 28:l2-19. He is our adversary, yes. He is God's adversary, also, and he wants to destroy everything that is of God, including you and me. He wants us dead. So, don't you be fooled. God created Satan; not to be evil; that was Satan's choice. But God created him and He can handle him. He already has. The victory has been won through Jesus death and resurrection, and Satan knows this. But he wants to take everyone he can with him to the firey pit of hell. Janae. |

Yes, Satan and his demons can read our minds. The mind is the battleground. We are to test the spirits to see if they are from God. That is how Fortune Tellers can be acurate. They listen to demons. This is why praying in tongues is so beneficial--because it is between you and God only--Satan and his cohorts cannot understand what is being prayed. It is your Spirit and God's Spirit communicating. Janae |

90 | what is back sliding | Luke 6:46 | Praise Be To God | 138528
Thank you for your note, John Pilgrim. I agree with you wholeheartedly. My righteousness is but filthy rags, and I know it only too well. Backsliding is serious business. It is committing sins against God with no regard for Him or for what is right. I, myself, have recently been described by God Himself as a "backslidden daughter." God took away someone from me because my attitude toward him was not holy and righteous. I tried for 6 years to not be attracted to this person, but it seemed like I just could not overcome my feelings for him, so God removed him from my life. In fact, I was the one who had to tell him I had to give up his fellowship and friendship. I am no longer a backslidden daughter because God, in His mercy and His grace has solved the problem for me, since I could not do it myself. The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away. That is the truth. The Lord requires much when you are in a ministry, and aren't we ALL in a ministry of some kind, whether it be at our workplace or at school, or wherever we spend our time? I was in prison ministry and I was attracted to the prisoner who was a lot younger than me. I could not overcome it, though I tried desperately. So God told me, "No more, daughter," and took him away. Yes, backsliding is serious business. Praise Be To God! Janae |

91 | what does it mean to suffer loss? | 1 Cor 3:15 | Praise Be To God | 138521
Just another note on the carnal Christian. He is the one who walks in the flesh and not in the spirit. He desires the praise of men, rather than the praise of God. He is not a servant, but wants to be praised and waited on. Not a pretty sight. I don't understand how carnal Christians can be so. They surely must read the Word and know the truth. How can they act so? It is a puzzlement to me! Just a thought. Janae |

92 | WTB, Where do you see 144K is the church | Rev 14:1 | Praise Be To God | 138443
The Church will be in the millions, not 144 thousand. The 144,000 is 12,000 from each of the 12 tribes of Israel. The Bible states this quite plainly. How can you say that 144,000 is not a concrete number? Janae |

93 | Looking for verse on God's opinion of us | Rom 14:16 | Praise Be To God | 138431
John 12:43: "For they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God," or Acts 5:29: "Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men." Maybe one of these is what you are looking for? Blessings, Janae |

94 | The church as the pillar of Truth? | 1 Tim 3:15 | Praise Be To God | 137147
My understanding of these verses is as follows: Matthew 16:18. In these words, Christ promises to build His church on the truth of Peter's and the other disciples' confession that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God. Jesus uses a play on words here. He calls His disciple "Peter", meaning a small stone, but goes on to say "upon this rock I will build my church," i.e. He will build His church on Peter's solid confession. It is Jesus Christ who is the Rock, the first and great foundation of the church. Peter states in his first letter that Jesus is the living stone . . . a chief corner stone . . . the stone which the builders disallowed. At the same time, Peter and all other Christians are living stones who become part of the structure of the spiritual house which God is building. Nowhere in Scripture is it stated that Peter would be the supreme and infallible authority above all other disciples. Nor is it stated that Peter should have infallible successors who would represent Christ and function as the official head of the church. Respectfully, Janae Whitlock |

95 | to serve god | Matthew | Praise Be To God | 136838
Al, I have been reading your posts these past few days, and I would like to comment on your answer. I am not demeaning the sacrifice of those persons who live in this way, but were not the Pharisees the same? They were more "religious" than any other group, (and in fact, Paul was probably a Pharisee before his Damascus Road experience), but we are saved not by our works, but by faith ("For by grace are ye saved though faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast." Ephesians 2:8). The question is this: Do we have a personal relationship with Jesus? Yes, we are to pray to God, we are commanded to pray, God wants us to communicate with Him and to have a personal relationship with Him, but I do not believe He wants us to spend our entire life in this manner. "For thou desirest not sacrifice; else would I give it: thou delightest not in burnt offering. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise." (Psalm 51:16-17). To serve God is to serve man. We must go into the world and preach the gospel to every creature; we must let love be our banner as we live a life that is pleasing to God, as we live it out before our fellow man. "But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased." (Hebrews 13:16) I do not believe God is pleased with those who hide themselves away, sacrificing their lives for prayers and oblations unto God. "Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal." (I Corinthians 13:1). I believe God wants us to live life abundantly--and to show forth his love to all mankind. That is to serve God. "Even so faith, if it hath not works is dead, being alone. Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: show me thy faith without thy works, and I will show thee my faith by my works." James 2:17 and 18. Thank you. Because of Him, Janae |

96 | how could you spot a false teacher? | 1 Tim 3:15 | Praise Be To God | 136743
Jesus gave us the authority to preach: "Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature." Mark 16:15. This command is given to all believers. This is the last thing Jesus said to us before he was taken up into heaven. The way you spot a false teacher is to compare what he says with the Word of God. The Word of God is the ultimate authority.
97 | my mother is disowning me | Bible general Archive 2 | Praise Be To God | 136674
Your mom does not "sound" like she is born again. She is disobeying one of God's Ten Commandments by disowning her parents, for God commands that we HONOR our father and mother. If it were me, I would go to her pastor and ask his advice as to what to do. Maybe he can help your mother to see that what she is doing to her family is not God's will. I do not think it is okay not to have contact with her--you need to get this straightened out, and the sooner, the better. You need Godly, Christian advice (which is what you have tried to get here) and I think your mother's pastor would be a good place to start. Hope this helps. Love in Christ, Janae. |

You are the one who brought the Assemblies of God into this; I just showed you a statement of what they actually believe. I am a member of the Assemblies of God Church, and I know quite well what they believe. It is all in the interpretation of God's Word, and I choose to believe that healing was atoned for at the cross, and I have given you scriptures to prove it. You choose not to believe it. That is your prerogative. Praise Be To God, Janae. |

Here is a direct quote from the Assemblies of God position paper: The Assemblies of God constitution in its Statement of Fundamental Truths, section 12, states: "Divine healing is an integral part of the gospel. Deliverance from sickness is provided for in the atonement, and is the privilege of all believers (Isaiah 53:4,5; Matthew 8:16,17; James 5:14—16)." I rest my case. Janae. |
