7081 | what does second death mean? | Rev 21:8 | Makarios | 24868
Greetings toto! "21:8 The characteristics of those who are not in Christ through faith- the unbelieving- are described. These unbelievers are destined for the lake of fire, eternal death after God's final judgment (see Rev. 20:12-14). All whose names are not written in the Book of Life (20:15) are judged according to their works (20:12), and are shown to be worthy of endless death (see Rom. 6:23). In 1 Cor. 6:9-11, Paul makes essentially the same point." [Taken from The Nelson NKJV Study Bible, pg. 2199, Thomas Nelson Publishers, 1997] - Nolan |

7083 | WE ARE THE BRIDE OF CHRIST, WHERE IS IT? | Rev 21:9 | Makarios | 107562
Greetings Lady_Devotion! Revelation 21:9 begins the description of the bride of Christ, being a holy city, the new Jerusalem. And those who dwell in that holy city are those whose names are written in the Lamb's book of life (Rev. 21:27). Therefore, the body of Christ; that is, the church, is correctly identified as the bride of Christ in Revelation 21. Blessings to you, Makarios |

7084 | "yielding its fruit every month" | Rev 22:2 | Makarios | 23098
Excellent post, my friend! This came up one time in my New Testament survey class. A friend of mine stood up in class to defend his belief that time will come to an end. However, my professor used his NIV to better explain this passage (Rev. 10:6), in much the same way that you have, my friend! "There will be delay no longer..." Grace to you, Nolan |

7085 | a statement for past, pres , or future ? | Rev 22:11 | Makarios | 227569
Greetings Humble Warrior! Revelation 22:11 "Let the one who does wrong, still do wrong; and the one who is filthy, still be filthy; and let the one who is righteous, still practice righteousness; and the one who is holy, still keep himself holy." Since Jesus is coming so suddenly, will there be any time for change? This verse gives the sense that there won't be any time left for change: no last minute repentance. But there is time right now, before Jesus comes back. So if what you've read in Revelation hasn't changed you, then there isn't much hope! Once the final states of the righteous and the wicked are set, then they will be fixed forever. There is no 'second chance' after this. Blessings to you, Makarios |

Greetings again, Hopefilled! I certainly can! :-) Since I have been a part of this Forum, I have put together two lengthy lists of "Messianic Prophecies fulfilled by Jesus Christ." One such list of "50 Messianic Prophecies fulfilled by Jesus Christ" is 'Searchable' by looking up Post# 27701. The other contains 75 Messianic Prophecies and can be found by looking up Post# 32360. 7089 | Bright morning star | Rev 22:16 | Makarios | 156674
Greetings Natoochton, Jesus mentions that He is the root and the descendant of David, the bright morning star, in Rev. 22:16. A quick look at Numbers 24:17 shows a prophecy in which the Messianic line (ultimately Christ) is described as "a star".. And, just as David would 'crush through the forehead of Moab', so Christ will crush through the darkness of this world and usher in a new Day for those who are redeemed in His Second Coming. Blessings to you, Makarios |

7091 | Why no additons 2Bible since Revelation? | Rev 22:18 | Makarios | 9143
Friend, you have asked a good question! I believe that we have everything that we need to know already in the Bible. But does this mean that no 'new' books could be added to the Bible? I believe that once Jesus Christ came, He provided us with the greatest Revelation of all! And the New Testament is entirely based on Jesus Christ, given and taught through the Holy Spirit. The early church recognized certain books to be canonical without any doubt. Other books were doubted for a time but were eventually added because of their undeniable presence of God and the Truth that they contain. I believe that God's Word is 'complete' and there is nothing that we could add to it that could possibly make it more 'complete'. As Rev. 22:18 states, "let no man add anything to this book..", it may be seen through church history that this book signifies the end of the actual text of the Bible- signifying the Bible as complete at the end of Revelation. MacArthur's Study Bible suggests, "These are not the first such warnings (cf. Deut. 4:2; 12:32; Prov. 30:6; Jer. 26:2). These warnings against altering the biblical text represent the close of the NT canon. Anyone who tampers with the truth by attempting to falsify, mitigate, alter, or misinterpret it will incur the judgments described in these verses." Blessings! Nolan |

7092 | why was the Bible not added to in 2000yr | Rev 22:18 | Makarios | 10725
"22:18 For similar OT warnings against additions or omissions, see Deut. 4:2; 12:32; Prov. 30:6." (Ryrie Study Bible) "22:18-19 Early Christian writers understood these verses as warnings to false teachers who would tamper with or alter the content of the Apocalypse. Such individuals by their actions reveal their unregenerate state and, therefore, are cursed with judgment (v. 18) and excluded from heaven (v. 19)." (Believer's Study Bible) "22:18-19 The author’s warning against revision of his work. 22:19 This prophecy this book. I.e. Revelation itself." (The Cambridge Annotated Study Bible) "REVELATION 22:18-19 Holy Scripture, Inspired—The God who breathed into each of His messengers the words of revelation declared that no one is to add to or take from the words of God. They are subject to God’s intervention if they do. The revelation of God is not to be altered, tampered with, or distorted, for it is an extension of God Himself, even as Jesus Christ is the Word made flesh. The Book of Revelation is thus consciously presented as sacred Scripture (Dt 4:2; 12:32)." (Disciple's Study Bible) "22:18, 19 The Book of Revelation was intended to be heard and obeyed (v. 7; 1:3), not tampered with. The person who either adds to or takes away from its contents will receive from God the strictest punishment, a punishment with eternal consequences. This terrifying warning is even stronger than that of Deut. 4:2 and Prov. 30:6." (The Nelson NKJV Study Bible) |

Greetings OneWayTriple, Here's a little about the Book of Mormon. I will examine just a few of the many facts that disqualify the Book of Mormon from being seriously considered as a revelation from God.. Claim: Joseph Smith translated alleged gold plates by the power of God using divine implements called the Urim and Thummim.. Reality: The Book of Mormon was actually produced through psychic methods and has nothing to do with ancient history. It is merely a product of nineteenth-century occultism. (1) Claim: The Book of Mormon claims to be a translation of ancient historical records that date long before Joseph Smith lived.. Reality: How likely is it that Jewish writers between 600 B.C.-A.D. 421 would discuss the social and religious issues common to nineteenth-century Christian America? Historical documents prove that when Smith wrote the Book of Mormon, he was only engaging in his usual practice of crystal gazing. The testimonies of David Whitmer, Emma Smith (one of Joseph Smith's wives), and William Smith (Joseph's brother) make this clear. Not a shred of archaeological evidence exists to support any historical longevity or antiquity of existence for the Book of Mormon. (1) Claim: The Mormon church claims that the Book of Mormon contains basic, fundamental Mormon teachings. Reality: Mormon teachings are not principally derived from the Book of Mormon, but from another Mormon 'scripture': "Doctrine and Covenants." The Book of Mormon has little bearing upon current Mormon doctrine. (1) Claim: Mormons repeatedly claim that their scriptures are not contradictory. Reality: When one examines and compares early and modern Mormon teachings, they discover clear doctrinal contradictions on many key issues. Because Mormon theology is replete with contradictions, the Mormon church has attempted to suppress information that it has found embarrassing. A more serious problem is the clear contradiction of Mormon doctrine to that of the Holy Bible, and I could cite hundreds of contrasts to that effect. 7096 | The truth in Revelation? | Rev 22:20 | Makarios | 94527
Greetings Pooh Wong! "What is John really trying to say in Revelation?" I really enjoy how you phrased that question! :) I wanted to provide an answer for you that is not based on any particular "belief" or without reverting to a particular word that begins with "E".... I believe that the entire book of Revelation can be summed up in this verse, Rev. 22:20, which provides a fitting conclusion to one of the most popular and controversial books in the entire Bible.. "He who testifies to these things says, "Yes, I am coming quickly." Amen. Come, Lord Jesus." We as human beings do not have the capacity to fully understand the entirety of Eternity; having no beginning, having no end, and how important this present time is to us and to all who live.. If I was a prophet, I may be inclined to say to all who will be saved and enter into the Kingdom of Heaven: We haven't seen anything yet! :-) Blessings to you, Makarios |
