Hi, voney... Welcome to the forum! This same question was asked here before. I am uncertain causes them to arise. Perhaps you both were from the same school? I would recommend that you seek an answer from Anglican theologians. If you are in school, I am sure that your text book or lecture notes will provide a better answer. We are, after all, not a forum given to the study of a particular denominational tradition, but rather a forum given to the study of the Bible itself. In Him, Doc |

Hi, Joe... Welcome to the forum! Although there are many denominations that place much significance on the definition of these terms, I think you began at the right place by coming here to ask the difference. It shows that you are seeking a Biblical answer. The issue arises when you only consider a linguistic distinction. Are you interested in discovering the difference for yourself? If so, I can direct you to the relevant passages. I think you will find in the end that it is a distinction without a difference. In Him, Doc |

67 | Israelites attitudes during exodus | Bible general | DocTrinsograce | 240689
Hi, Ingrid... Welcome to the forum! Grumbling has at its root dissatisfaction with God's providence. See the contrast from Philippians 2:13-16. Note that the "blameless and innocent children of God" manifest themselves by an attitude of complete trust in God. They know that every circumstance and situation is entirely under His control. We can sweep everything away by simply giving it the name of sin. However, when the authority of Scripture alone is the foundation of our thinking, then we learn to let the Word illumine our thinking. Thank you for asking this question. In Him, Doc |

68 | Will christians be rapture before the ma | Bible general | DocTrinsograce | 240770
Hi, Kathy... Welcome to the forum! I think there are some eschatological presuppositions that would weigh into any possible answer. Those would include perspectives on the "rapture" and the nature of the "mark of the beast." Consequently, you would get a different answer depending on whether the person responding was, for example, a Dispensationalist on one extreme or a Preterist on the other. What answer does your pastor give you? In Him, Doc |

Hi, Vonray... Welcome to the forum! I am glad that you are turning to the Scriptures themselves, rather then some kind of inner feelings. We are to stand firmly on the solid rock of the Word. Otherwise you might well be suffering a maladay not much different than your brother-in-law. Indeed, work to increase your own understanding of Scriptures. Do not try to deal with this other man's perceived problem. You already have something in common in the Word itself. As you grow in love of God, love of His Word, love of His church, and love of His righteousness (1 John), the Lord will provide opportunities for you to interact with your brother-in-law. There are far more points of commonality than this single issue. No doubt God is working in him as well. Why not take an epistle like 1 John and become an expert on it? This will allow the Lord to begin to build the kind of character in you that will be able to lovingly help your brother. Meanwhile, those of us in the forum, will be praying for you and your brother-in-law. In Him, Doc |
