61 | Consequences of premarital sex? | 1 Cor 6:16 | Bob Y. | 28912
Gen 2:23 The man said, "This is now bone of my bones, And flesh of my flesh; She shall be called Woman, Because she was taken out of Man." Gen 2:24 For this reason a man shall leave his father and his mother, and be joined to his wife; and they shall become one flesh. 1Cr 6:16 Or do you not know that the one who joins himself to a prostitute is one body with her? For He says, "THE TWO SHALL BECOME ONE FLESH." 1Cr 6:17 But the one who joins himself to the Lord is one spirit with Him. 1Cr 6:18 Flee immorality. Every other sin that a man commits is outside the body, but the immoral man sins against his own body. Hope this helps |

63 | episcopal church | 1 Cor 12:14 | Bob Y. | 25202
I was raised in the Episcopal church but I never really found a personal relationship with Jesus until I went to a church with a free form of worship. The Episcopal church is very close to the Anglican or Church of England. The Episcopal churches I've been to are very liturgical in their worship services. Most of the time the Bible is not even brought to the service. The minister may read from it, but the congragation follows and recites sections from "The Book of Common Prayer" The minister reads one line and the congragation answers with the next. The music is done the same way, with the choir singing one or two verses and the congragation singing the next couple. It has been a long time since I attended the Episcopal church regularly, but when I did it seemed like the congragation was not encouraged to read the Bible on their own very much. They were only encouraged to memorize certain verses like the 23rd Psalm and the Lord's Prayer (and the Apostles Creed, which is not a Bible verse but a statement of belief). It may be different now. In many larger Episcopal churches the services are very pomp and beautiful. They remind you of something you might see in the royal palaces of England. A visitor to an Episcopal church may find it difficult to follow the cues for standing, sitting, neeling and reciting. I believed that a new Christian or someone searching for truth will be more well served by going to a church with a more free form of worship. A church that encourages a personal relationship with Jesus and the individual study of the Bible. A Christian who already understands his relationship with Jesus and the Bible may get more enjoyment from the beauty of the Episcopal services. This is, of course, only my opinion. It is possible that some people may come to know Christ through these kinds of services. |

64 | Thank you | 1 Cor 12:14 | Bob Y. | 25370
Jenna, your very welcome. What I said is from my own experience and I'm sure that their are some Episcopal churches that may encourage a more personal relationship with Jesus. Continue to seek God through the Bible with the assumption (faith)that it is His infalable word and He will open it's secrets for your heart. Search for a church that exaults Jesus, believes the Bible is the inerrant word of God and encourages it's study on the individual level. In Christ's Love, Bob |

65 | Is paradise hell? | Ephesians | Bob Y. | 26734
I agree with EdB. Abraham, Moses the prophets and saints of the Old Testament could not have entered into Heaven until Jesus made Himself the perfect sacrifice that could forever cover their sinfulness, since each of them had been using animal sacrifices during their life to cover their sins before God. Since they could not enter Heaven and be in the presents of God, they had to be in a sort of holding area refered to as "Paradise" or "Abraham's bosom". I believe that, from the cross, Jesus decended into this holding area and preached the salvation He was providing to them by his sacrifice. They accepted Him as their savior and were released into Heaven. 1Pe 3:19 By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison; Mat 27:52 And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose, Mat 27:53 And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many. Mat 8:11 And I say unto you, That many shall come from the east and west, and shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven. Now this holding area is empty. The only ones that are in Hell now are there awaiting the "White Throne Judgement" of Revelations 20:11-12 and the second death. Press toward the mark, Bob |

66 | Definition of worldly sorrow? | Eph 4:30 | Bob Y. | 27794
2Cr 7:10 For the sorrow that is according to the will of God produces a repentance without regret, leading to salvation, but the sorrow of the world produces death.(NASB) In the phrase;"For godly sorrow" godly is Strong #2316 (theos) 4) whatever can in any respect be likened unto God, or resemble him in any way We might then read this as: sorrow, like the sorrow that God would have, leads to salvation... or as the NASB puts it "sorrow that is according to the will of God" What would make God sorrowful? Eze 18:23 Have I any pleasure at all that the wicked should die? saith the Lord GOD: [and] not that he should return from his ways, and live? God becomes sorrowful when He sees people choose death through sin rather than life through His Son, Jesus Christ. Thus "godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation." Since God does become sorrowful over the death of the lost, and Jesus is the image of the Father (2Cor 4:4), whos sole purpose as an uncorruptable man was to die to pay the penalty for our sins (John 17:4) and give us the gift of eternal life, we can make the assumption that Jesus would also feel great sorrow for the lost. Unfortunately because of the hardness of their hearts, many have rejected Him and will experience death and hell. This is what brings sorrow to Jesus and makes Him the "man of sorrows" Isa 53:3 He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: Worldly sorrow is the sorrow that is the result of sin which leads to death. Psa 38:3 There is no soundness in my flesh because of Your indignation; There is no health in my bones because of my sin . Because Jesus was uncorruptable, the sorrow He felt was never worldly sorrow. He never gave in to or coveted anything that was fleshly or material, thus the sorrow He felt could never be "worldly" (Matt 4:8-10) Jhn 14:30 "I will not speak much more with you, for the ruler of the world is coming, and he has nothing in Me; (NASB) |

68 | what is the true worship day sun. or sat | Col 2:16 | Bob Y. | 25355
I am going to begin having my group prayer, worship and Bible study on Wednesday morning. Think maybe I might loose my salvation? Hmmm, I doubt it. But then I guess I will not let anyone sit in judgment on me in matters of food and drink, or with regard to a feast day or a New Moon or a Sabbath. |

69 | Why must we divide soul and spirit? | Heb 4:12 | Bob Y. | 27595
Simular to what There has said, I look at the spirit of man to be the mind, thoughts, inner man. The soul as the seat of one's emotions and the body as the physical man, infected with sinfullness. The body has it's own desires. The desire to survive, the desire to eat, desire for creature comfort and sexual satisfaction, etc. All of these desires are tanted with the infection of sinfullness which results in death that was acquired from Adam. The soul, being the seat of our emotions, is the essence of who we are as individuals. To a great degree, what we do is lead by what we feel. We are all born with a spirit, it is from God and is the source of the moral conscience we all have. God has given everyone a spirit, but the spirit of the unbeliever is separated from God while he is alive on earth and will return to God at death.(his soul suffering eternal separation from God) Ecc 12:7 Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it. Paul spoke of this makeup in Rom 7:23 "...a different law in the members of my body, waging war against the law of my mind (reasoning from his spirit) and making me (his soul - the essence of who he is) a prisoner of the law of sin which is in my members(physical body whos desires are infected with sin)" Our soul can receive input from our physical body and our spirit. How many times do we know what we should be doing in our mind yet opt for the "creature comfort" or desire of the physical body. When we make a decision of faith and trust in Jesus, it is a decision to apply His sacrifice to our spirit allowing the Holy Spirit to dwell within our spirit giving it a wellspring of renewing life. With our life now coming from the Holy Spirit we die to the influence of the body. Our soul (our emotions and essence of who we are) receives it's input from our spirit which is indwelt by the Holy Spirit. Like There said, as believers, our body (which is infected with sin) will return to dust, but our spirit and soul will enter Heaven. Later we will receive a resurrection body that will replace our old currupt body(Phil 3:21). The division of the spirit and soul is the separation of our emotions and feelings (soul)being directed by physical desires, from our mind (spirit) which will have the leading of the Holy Spirit and the wisdom of God's word. When this happens we can control the sinful desires of our body so that our actions will reflect the wisdom dwelling within our spirits. In Christ, Bob |

71 | what about the K J V | Rev 3:10 | Bob Y. | 24986
I think that all of you have a very good line of thinking in this area. I am by no stretch of the imagination a scholar of any kind. I prefer the more contemporary language found in the NKJV and NASB, because it's easier for my simple mind to grasp, yet are still accurate translations. I have a friend who majored in ancient Greek in college and reads a Greek New Testament. He tells me that these translations (of course refering to KJV also) are very accurate. I use all the study aids I can, but only to gain a better understanding and I rely on the Holy Spirit to put it all together for me. God bless all of you, Bob |

72 | What type of death is the 2nd death? | Rev 21:8 | Bob Y. | 24985
Rev.20:6 Blessed and holy is the one who has a part in the first resurrection; over these the second death has no power, but they will be priests of God and of Christ and will reign with Him for a thousand years. (NASB copyright 1995 Lockman) Rev. 20:12 And I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne, and books were opened; and another book was opened, which is the book of life; and the dead were judged from the things which were written in the books, according to their deeds. (NASB copyright 1995 Lockman Foundation) Rev. 20:14-15 14 Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire. 15 And if anyone's name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire. (NASB copyright 1995 Lockman Foundation) I believe the above sequence of verses may clearify what the second death is. When a person has turned from being led by their sin nature and desires placing the foundation of their being on Jesus and the salvation that He has given for all by His sacrifice, which was certified as acceptable to the Father in the resurrection, they receive the Holy Spirit being now at peace with the Father and exempt from the "great white throne" judgment of God described in Rev.20:11-15. Unsaved people walk around spiritually dead throughout this life, yet aware of their surroundings because their souls and bodies are still living. When their body is lost, their soul remains for judgment. For the unsaved death is a fearsome threat that lurks in the future. Unfortunatly when they pass from this life, they find they have a much more fearsome threat awaiting them. For the unsaved it is all a sequence of continuous loss, but for those saved through Christ Jesus it is a sequence of eternal growth and gain. God bless you, Bob |
