63 | You need baptism of the Holy Ghost! | Acts 19:2 | tj57h@cs.com | 88716
How do you explain this scripture? Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?" And they said to him, "No, we have not even heard whether there is a Holy Spirit." Acts 19:6 the Holy Spirit came on them, and they began speaking with tongues and prophesying. Certainly the practice of becoming born again and being baptized in the Holy Sprit are not simultaneously practiced, I have been an Apostolic Church were the did, the person received the baptism of the Holy Ghost at the same time they were baptized in water. Ever other Church I have been in practiced either no Holy ghost baptism at all or being born again and water baptism as one event and Baptism in the Holy Ghost as separate events. Biblically speaking I would probably have to agree with you they should be practiced at the same time, but my experience was that they occurred at separate times. Do you speak in tongs, prophesy, or have the gifts of healing, discernment or miracles? I am curious or do you believe these have passed away as some do today. I operate in the gifts and have the Spirits fruits. They have not passed away. Perhaps it is error that many who believe in the baptism of the Holy Ghost practice it separately, my concern is those who believe they have ALL there is of God and do not operate in the Gifts. 65 | Look to Jesus not problems, be healed! | John 3:14 | tj57h@cs.com | 88714
I agree, Paul was given a thorn in the flesh a messenger from Satan to buffet him, because of his great revelations. I believe this means God will allow something in your life to keep you humble and dependant on him if you are walking in a lot of revelation. Otherwise you will get the big fat head and will become much less powerful in God Paul said I GLORY in my infirmities! This takes a lot of Spiritual insight to comprehend this statement. 2Cor 12: 5 Of such an one will I glory: yet of myself I will not glory, but in mine infirmities. 6 For though I would desire to glory, I shall not be a fool; for I will say the truth: but now I forbear, lest any man should think of me above that which he seeth me to be, or that he heareth of me. 7 And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure. 8 For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me. 9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong. I believe in Paul’s weakness the POWER of God manifested in a greater way because of this weakness and this is the reason he gloried in it. God goal is not to make us great people outside of him, he wants himself GORIFIED through us. He wants us dependant on him. Our position on healing is ALWAYS that God’s healing will manifest in us by his stripes, by faith regardless of anything else. Love, Tim Hines |

These believers were born again, did not have the Baptism and then they received the baptism of the Holy Ghost! Every person born again is baptized into the Spirit. In this scripture these two events happened at different times, as was my experience! Love, Tim Hines |

68 | THE MOST POWERFUL VERSE IN EVANGELISM! | John 12:32 | tj57h@cs.com | 88706
Anyone who can shed more light on this scripture? As we proclaimed the Gospel we are proclaiming his death burial and resurrection, this is lifting him up were he is seated at the right hand of God in heaven. THIS WILL DRAW ALL MEN UNTO HIM. I am not your Lord he is, but why one would want to discount one of the most powerful verses for evangelism and building up the saints, I will never know. I walk in this and he draws all men unto him when I proclaim his great name. I pray that you receive spiritual enlightenment of this verse. Love, Tim Hines |

73 | Righteousness by faith NOT WORKS!!! | Ps 32:1 | tj57h@cs.com | 88700
I agree! Paul and James actually complement each other. Paul says righteousness is imputed to us by faith, James says because I am justified by faith I do works of righteousness. We do not do works to be justified before God; we are already justified to God by faith, if we believe. Since we live and move and have our being in Christ, we do works of righteousness. If we try to attain right standing with God by works, Gal 5:4 Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace. I do not believe this means people who seek to be justified by works are lost and going to hell, unless that is how they believe they believe they are saved initially, by works. Many people preach saved by grace kept saved by works, if a person believes this I believe this scripture says the Grace of God has little or no manifestation in you current walk in this life. Gal 5:4. Any comments? Love Tim |

74 | Did God create evil? | Is 45:7 | tj57h@cs.com | 88697
I just stated the verse. Did not God create the tree of the knowledge of good and evil? He told them not to eat it. God created evil, but evil is not sin. Sin is when you choose to do evil and rebel or disobey God. Satan was the first sinner and the author of sin. God created the capacity for Satan to sin and he rebelled against God and was cast out of heaven and condemned to eternal damnation in hell. I heard a famous preacher once say, ”When I get to heaven I want to ask God why he put Satan on the earth?” IF THERE IS NO OPTION TO SERVING GOD HOW CAN WE SERVE GOD BY FREE WILL? EVIL IS THE CAPACITY TO SIN; SIN IS CHOOSING TO DO EVIL INSTEAD OF OBEYING GOD. I HOPE THIS HAS HELPED YOU, Love, Tim hines |

75 | Can the "natural man" desire Christ? | Rev 13:8 | tj57h@cs.com | 88692
Jesus does draw all men, when the Spirit draws, they have to make a decision to give in and humble themselves to the Lord, if they do not they are not born again. The desire is there they just choose to rebel against God and choose their judgment. It must be because they LOVE their sin more than God, I believe this following scripture is saying that God was revealed to them and they rejected him, as in the example we have been talking about: Romans 1:18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; 19 Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. 20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: 21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. 22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, 23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. 24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: 25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. 26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: 27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. 28 And even as they did not like to retain F8 God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; 29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, 30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, 31 Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: 32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.
