62 | in the benning godcreatedthe heaven and | Gen 1:1 | Sctt | 41898
Hi Lorna GEN.1:1-2 Right from the opening two verses of the bible we have the Godhead mentioned , God the father , who through his son as seen in Jn.1:3 made the heaven and the earth , and the Spirit of God which is of course the Holy Spirit. The three words form , void and darkness are words used to describe what the earth looked like before God moved upon the face of the waters. Now lets take these two verses and apply them to us. We were made from the dust of the earth , we to were in darkness full of confusion and empty until God the father sent his son Jesus Christ to die for us and inpart the Holy Spirit in us. Now God always works by degrees he could have made the heaven and the earth all at once but he didn’t , he used six days for his creation. This shows us that nothing or no one was ever made perfect all at once for God never works that way , even Jesus Christ was not perfected until he died on the Cross. We as children of God grow by degrees just as Jesus did for he learned as we do by the trials we go through. |

64 | where was Jesus? | Eph 4:8 | Sctt | 41840
Good thought , they paid the guards to lie and say that his disciples came by at night a stold his body. what did they say about all those that came out of there graves with him? At this time they must have realised that he was the Messiah , but to this day still reject Him. When those that came out of their graves with Him showed themselves this must have proved to them that Jesus was the resserection and the life.Goes to show you what depths man will go to ,to reject Christ.

67 | where was Jesus? | Eph 4:8 | Sctt | 41527
Hi Searcher I've reread this passage and if you take what is said as two differant sentances (my spellings terrible) I see where you are comming from.I use KJV and it reads as one sentance ...and many bodies of the saints which slept arose, and came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many. That said i've also read other translations that make it two sentances. But in all the translations i've read it does say they came out of the graves after his resurrection. So lets agree with what the scriptures say , but this does not have to do away with your interpitation of it for I thank we are both right. The graves were open and the saints arose, but stayed in their graves(tombs, caves)until the resurrection.Maybe it was while they were in their tombs Jesus preached the gospel unto them. I hope this make sense of the two different points of view. In Christ Scott.
68 | where was Jesus? | Eph 4:8 | Sctt | 41179
HI searcher if they came out of the graves when he died then they would have been resurected before him Col1:18 says And he is the head of the body, the church:who is the beginning, the FIRSTBORN FROM THE DEAD;that in all things he might have the preeminence.

71 | Speaking in tongues...not saved? | Bible general Archive 1 | Sctt | 40185
Hello raven I don't believe that you have to speak in tongues to be saved , this is just one of the gifts that God gave unto man. But I do beleave in speaking in tongues as well as prophecy. You seem to take most of what you beleave from 1Co.13:8-10. I don't see where you get that which is perfect is come, is the bible (although I to beleave that it is perfect). Jesus also was perfect but after he left us he sent the Spirit which gave unto men the gift of tongues as well as other gifts. So as I see it to beleave that the bible is that perfect which is to come is saying that Christ was not that perfect which is to come. Are they not the same? the word of God.I beleave that that which is perfect is refering to the body of Christ, which Jesus was the head.as seen in Eph.4:11-16. This is still in the future as we have not yet been made perfect in Christ.(what I mean by perfected in Christ is that we have not yet put away all our sins). Read Acts 2:15-21 Its says in the LAST DAYS I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh:and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy and your young men shall see visions and your old men shall dream dreams. Are we not now living in the last days? I hope this is helpful to all. in Christ Sctt. |
